"A Little Bit of Me" Wellness Workshop
August 2026
LittleSpace brought self-expression to life at Englewood Cliffs Upper School’s Summer Camp!
The TeenSpace’s new LittleSpace program was able to create a structured lesson plan where we explained what self-expression is, how we already use it, and how to implement healthier coping habits in daily life for young people to build foundational skills to support themselves.
Through hands-on slime-making and bracelet-making, kids further explored what it means to name their feelings, embrace their individuality, and know that everything they feel is valid.
Emotional literacy is about giving every kid the tools to understand themselves, before it’s ever a crisis. Every bracelet and slime created was taken home as a small reminder: you are unique and your feelings matter.

Project Pag-asa: Philippines Outreach
July 25, 2026
TeenSpace had the privilege of bringing Project Pag-asa to life at St. Martin de Porres Home in the Philippines as our first international outreach event and LittleSpace event!💌✈️
Named after the Filipino word for ”hope,” Project Pag-asa was created with the belief that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. Through this outreach, we shared not only meals, but also moments of creativity, comfort, and connection.
Together, we donated 230+ items, including mental wellness kits filled with art supplies, LEGO sets, squishy balls, and other sensory and creative activities, along with Jollibee meals for the children. We hope these gifts encourage joy, self-expression, and remind each child that they are cared for and supported.
A heartfelt thank you to Jollibee for helping make this outreach possible, and of course, thank you to St. Martin’s home for welcoming us and making a child’s day.
This is only the beginning of Project Pag-asa, and we can’t wait to continue spreading hope to international underserved communities whenever possible.

Bergen's Promise Donations
July 2, 2026
Every child deserves to feel understood, supported, and included. For many neurodivergent children, sensory tools are more than toys. They can help reduce stress, improve focus, encourage emotional regulation, and provide comfort during overwhelming moments.
The TeenSpace Sensory Donation Drive was created with that purpose in mind.
Together with Bergen’s Promise, we assembled sensory kits filled with coloring books, colored pencils, stickers, stuffed animal keychains, sensory toys such as fidget cubes, pop-its, stress balls, and textured fidgets, along with handmade bracelets and heartfelt cards created by our volunteers. Our donation also included mental health pamphlets and note cards generously provided by our Generation Be There partners at Born This Way Foundation, helping connect young people and families with messages of hope, support, and trusted mental health resources.
Every item was thoughtfully chosen because small tools can make a big difference. Whether it offers a moment of calm, encourages creativity, or reminds a child that someone cares, each piece reflects our commitment to making mental health support more accessible, inclusive, and compassionate.
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this drive possible. Together, we’re creating a community where every young person feels seen, supported, and empowered.

We’re so excited to launch our Reset and Reflect Kit donation drive!
We created 50 care kits designed to give teens a safe space to reflect, create, and take care of their mental health. A journal can be more than paper. It can be a place to feel heard. Through small tools like journaling and creative expression, we hope to remind teens that they are not alone.
Special thanks to Bergen’s Promise for working with us to make a difference!

Appreciation Grams: TeenSpace x More Than Enough
February 10-12, 2026
The TeenSpace and BCA HOSA’s More Than Enough Initiative hosted an appreciation-grams event outside of Commons! The TeenSpace supported More Than Enough’s February Theme: Right Circle, Right Mind. This means supporting systems and uplifting one another. Through the creation of appreciation grams, participants were able to create personalized goody bags (free of charge!) with candy and customized cards. Many participants chose to write cards anonymously and/or give them out to other homerooms in efforts to spread joy and kindness during the Valentine’s Day appreciation season.
This event was created across a 3-day duration to ensure as many people got to have as many free Valentine’s Day gifts as possible, because kindness shouldn’t have a price tag. Across the three days participants made 150+ appreciation grams, 70+ on day 1, 50+ on day 2, and 30+ on day 3. Our ultimate goal was to promote positivity within our school community during this season. Surrounding ourselves with the right people strengthens our self-esteem and boosts our overall mental health.

Creativity in adolescents, often measured through divergent thinking and artistic output, correlates statistically with improved mental health, higher academic achievement, and enhanced resilience.
Studies show that moderate to high levels of creativity are associated with lower risks of internalizing behaviors (depression, withdrawal) and externalizing behaviors (restlessness). It is also positively linked to better cognitive flexibility, increased self-esteem, and better management of stress.
The TeenSpace hosted a card making event in the month of January and created 70+ cards. Cards were created for youth in behavioral health units at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. The event was created to further foster creativity in adolescents to promote mental health awareness and spread joy and kindness to youth in hospital settings.
Our Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center donation was a huge success delivering over 259+ creative supplies to youth in behavioral health units. The money spent on donations amassed to $211.47 from our DoubleGood fundraiser.

Project Shelterway x TeenSpace Collaboration
October 10, 2025
Homelessness and mental health are deeply interconnected. Research from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) shows that around 30% of people experiencing chronic homelessness have a serious mental illness, and nearly 50% struggle with both mental health and substance use disorders.
Among youth, especially those who identify as LGBTQ+, rates of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicidal ideation are especially high. The Trevor Project found that LGBTQ youth who have experienced homelessness are two to four times more likely to attempt suicide compared to those with stable housing.
The TeenSpace collaborated with student-led organization Project Shelterway to create 50 cards for homeless youth, leaving motivating and positive messages behind. We also donated essential hygiene supplies through our care package donation drive to Covenant House (Nancy’s Place) in Montclair, NJ.
Nancy’s Place is an 18-month program for youth who have made mental health and wellness their priority. We donated 410+ items from this event in the form of 50 care kits, impacting several local teens.
